• CONNIE BURTON UNDER ATTACK. WHY?

Connie Burton, Voice of the Working Class Community Under Attack !
"Straight Talk " Removed from WMNF (88.5 FM) Radio (Tampa,Fl)! WHY ?

For 25 years WMNF 88.5 "community Radio" has existed inside the African community and has proven itself to be a disrespectful quest.
How, you may ask? In 1967, based off of the brutality suffered by, the murder of and sacrifices of African Workers in the Civil Rights and Black Power Movement, Congress passed the " Public Broadcast Act" to quarantee the rights of local communities to have independent media.
AS usual, our struggle benefitted white folks, because now they own and control the community stations. Sure, they will let you hear gospel, reggae, jazz and hip hop sounds but when it comes time for the black community to speak in our own interests, they draw the line.
For 9 years, every sunday I have hosted a program that was honest and direct. I identified the condition of our people and identified those who are responsible such as the Mayor and the puppet black leaders who want to profit from our suffering. The white management of WMNF(88.5 FM) insists that our solution should depend on them. That's why they have attempted to control who can be heard on WMNF(88.5 FM).
This generation of White bosses is no different than their forefathers. To oppose the black freedom and independence message of "Straight Talk" the white management brought in Otis Anthony, the former assistant to Mayor Sandy Freeman. They gave him a 2 hour show aimed at keeping the black community in the hands of white rulers, the Democratic Party. Their message is "dont struggle, just vote
I am unbought and unbossed. My commitment is to the freedom, of Black/African people. We demand power over our own lives, and thats not what the White bosses wanted to hear. We will continue to make our demand for the reinstatement of "Straight Talk" and call on everyone in our community to join us in winning that demand.
Straight Talk News is here to stay.
