• BLACK PROGRESS. HOW MUCH?

    Black American progress
While it is true that, considering the walls of segregation having been torn down, Blacks have made considerable social progress in this nation since the 1960's. But, looking at the economic and criminal justice side of the ledger there is much to be desired where the progress of Black Americans is concerned. By any measure, there are more African Americans incarcerated in correctional institutions across the nation today than at any time in history. It is true that better than one-third(1/3) of the Black Males from 17-44 years of age, are wards of state, having been incarcerated or in custody at some time or another in their short lives. I do believe that the state attorney's office sends more Blacks to state correctional institutions, annually, than the senior high schools, combined , sends to colleges in any given year.

It is safe to say that only about 10% of the Black population is part of the "inclusion" , by any decent measure, including economic and educational achievements.

It is most difficult for so called Black leaders to be authors of progress for the Black masses when they dont have such economic-social information about their people.

Another point which must be made is that good jobs for blacks must not be created in those positions used to keep the Black masses under control. Black educators must be used and hired as good teachers who help Black students, not who serve as "flunkies" for principles who are there to be "control" freaks. The few good jobs Blacks seem to get out of the system are inadvertently used to curtail the developement and progress of the Black masses.
